Guantanamera is the title of a song composed in 1928 (on a poem by José Martí) by Joseito Fernandez, who was the first performer.
In the 1960s, this song was so successful internationally that it has since become an integral part of Cuba’s image around the world.
Guantanamera gave its name to a brand of Habanos that was launched on the international market in 2002.
The vitoles are made from leaves of the Vuelta Arriba, the second largest Cuban region of tobacco production.
