2004 saw the creation of Hoyo’s petit Robusto, probably the best new cigar of that year. Flavoursome with rich spice, sweet notes and great complexity, and matures well. Generally mild and earthy at the start, it soon evolves progressively without being aggressive. Reminds me of the glory days of Cuba and pre-Castro small cigars like the El Rey Del Mundo, Royal Serie No.3. The aromas developed are so round and aromatic that we can almost forget it’s a young cigar. The finish is outstanding and it’s just hard to stop smoking the last part even when one’s fingers are starting to burn.
